SAL40223D -- CCSDS compatible High-speed Reed-Solomon decoder, errors-only

 

The SAL40223D product is a systematic 16 error-correcting Reed-Solomon decoder device over the field GF(256), whose primitive polynomial is p(x) = x8 + x7 + x2 + x + 1. It is capable of very high speed operation. Its coefficients are taken from the generator polynomial g(x) = ∏(x-α11j), (where j ranges from 112 to 143).

The SAL40223D uses a pipelined architecture, and is capable of handling shortened frames without the normal latency and throughput penalty of competing products. The device is optimized for low area and power with high throughput.
