SAL40221D -- High-speed CCSDS compatible Reed-Solomon decoder, errors-and-erasures

 

The SAL40221D product is an 8 error-correcting systematic Reed-Solomon decoder device over the field GF(256), whose primitive polynomial is p(x) = x8 + x7 + x2 + x + 1. It is capable of very high speed operation. Its coefficients are taken from the generator polynomial g(x) = ∏(x-α11j), (where j ranges from 120 to 135).

The SAL40221D uses a pipelined architecture, and is capable of handling shortened frames and puncturing without the normal latency and throughput penalty of competing products. The device is optimized for high throughput, errors-and-erasures operation.
