SAL10300E -- Flexible High-speed Convolutional Encoder

 

 

The SAL10300E product is a high speed convolutional encoder as used in a broad variety of applications in telecommunications and data storage.

The basic code is a variable constraint length, variable mother rate transparent code which is well suited to channels with predominantly Gaussian noise. In addition to the nominal rate codes, the device supports punctured rates 2/3, 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8. The encoder is of the non-systematic, non-recursive type, with programmable polynomials.
